Sarchi

Take a short drive to the town of Sarchi. Famed for it’s furniture, traditional Costa Rican ox-cart factory and wood artisans. We will visit the largest ox-cart in the world, then we will visit a traditional ox cart factory where all the tools are powered by the river’s force via a large wheel. It is awesome to see in action. All the saws and lathes moving only by the power of the river. We will also be able to watch the artists hand paint the ox carts in typical Costa Rica tradition. We will end the tour with a trip to a small town family owned and run wood souvenir factory where you can purchase any wooden souvenirs such as jewelry boxes, wine holders, puzzle boxes, coasters and more for a fraction of what it costs in typical souvenir stores.
