Amenities within walking distance from the B & B Grecia:

1. Restaurants:

Galeria Steak House – Without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in Grecia. They have the best beef steaks I have had in Costa Rica thus far and have an amazing Tuna steak too. Come to think of it, their whole menu is awesome! Tell the owners Jorge and Tatiana I sent you, they will take care of you right!!

Nelson’s – Serves typical Tico lunch and dinner at very affordable prices

Don Juan’s – Serves typical Tico lunch at extremely affordable prices. An average meal which consists of the casado (rice/beans/vegetables/plantains/meat dish) and drinks cost around $4. All that for that price!

La Barra Lite – It’s a little further than walking distance but has the freshest and best Ceviche and salads around. The owner, my good friend Douglas hand picks only the best fruits, vegetables and fish. He taught me how to pick the perfect fruits and vegetables at the weekend Farmer’s market when I first moved here. They also serve smoothies, fruit plates, pitas and protein drinks. Always fresh, always lite!

2. Bars:

Saprissa – Most popular pub like bar in the area. Some call it the “Cheers” bar.

3. Shopping:

Farmers Market – Every Friday PM and Saturday AM local farmers market is located on the edge of downtown Grecia. Great place for delicious and inexpensive fruits and veggies. There is also a dessert booth, run by some folks from the nearby town of Atenas. They have the best pecan pie and cinnamon rolls in Costa Rica bar none!

Grecia Mall – A smaller shopping center with clothing stores etc. They also have a movie theater that plays some English titles along with Spanish titles.

Grocery Stores – Perimercado, Pali + some smaller ones

4. Medical/Dental Facilities:

We have a full Hospital plus many doctors, clinics and labs in and around Grecia. We can refer you to some good ones. You can save a lot on dental work by bypassing the big city for a more tranquil small town setting. Grecia has some great dentists and doctors.
